Colorado's Shedeur and Deion Sanders

Coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes will face the BYU Cougars in the Valero Alamo Bowl on Dec. 28 for a chance to finish the season with an impressive 10-3 record. Among their ranks will be the standout stars of their season, quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Heisman-winning Travis Hunter.

During the Buffs' final training session before jetting off to Texas for the game, the charismatic Coach Prime delivered a reality check to the seniors on the team, challenging them to elevate their performance for the bowl game.

"Undivided guys, undivided. Guys, this is your last Friday, let that sink in," Deion Sanders said. "Our last Friday as well, we gonna make it good, we gonna make it right, we gonna be concise, we gonna be precise. No blown assignment, we go in a good speed. We're gonna take of each other, let's be disciplined, let's try to perform today like we perform tomorrow. Let's focus, let's lock in! Let's focus, let's lock in."

Deion Sanders prepares for last game with sons & Travis Hunter

The Colorado Buffaloes' clash against the BYU Cougars in the Alamo Bowl will be the last time Deion Sanders coaches his NFL-bound sons, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders, along with Travis Hunter, with whom he shares a close bond.

During his weekly news conference, Coach Prime revealed the emotional difficulty of the game, given the impending farewells.

“It’s gonna be something to behold,” Sanders said. “I don’t know how I’m gonna handle it. I know Travis is gonna trigger me. I know it because he always does, and he’s gonna bring tears out of my eyes. But I don’t look forward to it. But I do, because that means they’re going to another level, another chapter of life. And they’re gonna soar."
“We’re taking it serious, because we were predicted not to be here, by some of you wonderful folks."

For the first time in his coaching career, Coach Prime will be without the services of Shedeur Sanders. However, he has already addressed the significant void left by the quarterback's departure by securing the commitment of five-star prospect Julian Lewis.

Replacing Travis Hunter will prove to be more challenging due to his unique two-way status that earned him the Heisman Trophy. Ultimately, Deion Sanders will face the daunting task of losing three core players who transitioned with him from the FCS with the Jackson State Tigers to the FBS with the Colorado Buffaloes.
