3-star Colorado LB commit Mantrez Walker was a part of the 2025 recruiting group that visited the Deion Sanders program at the weekend. The 6-foot-1 225 lbs linebacker from Buford is considered to be a top recruit set to arrive in Boulder as a part of the 2025 recruiting class.

During his recent official visit, Mantrez Walker recreated Deion Sanders' iconic photos from his NFL draft day back in 1989. Coach Prime was drafted as the fifth overall pick back then by the Atlanta Falcons.

Walker recreated Deion Sanders' two iconic snippets from the draft. One of those was him answering a call on a telephone with sunglasses on. The other photo that the 3-star LB recreated was celebrating on the couch like the 2x Super Bowl winner. Walker was rocking a white Colorado jacket during the shoot.

Walker had publically committed his pledge to play for the Colorado Buffaloes during their spring game in April. While speaking with 247Sports post his commitment, Walker listed the reasons that influenced his decision.

"The environment, the coaches, how I was a No.1 priority, and the constant communication with Colorado were why I committed to them," he said.

Apart from Mantrez Walker, other top prospects that highlighted Colorado's official visits weekend included five-star USC QB commit Julian Lewis and 4-star offensive guard Chauncey Gooden.

Mantrez Walker had high praise for Colorado post spring games

After Colorado's 2024 spring game, the 3-star LB commit talked about the plethora of celebrities that attended that game. He also spoke about how he got the chance to meet ex-NFL star Terrell Owens and boxer Ryan Garcia and how the energy surrounding the program was 'lit'.

"It was lit out there. It was a whole bunch of celebrities and stuff like that. I met Ryan Garcia, a whole bunch of NFL Hall of Famers, Terrell Owens, just a star-studded environment. Everyone just gravitates towards Colorado. They like the energy around it."

It looks like Walker plans on staying loyal on his commitment to play for the Colorado Buffaloes. With his commitment intact, Coach Prime will have another strong weapon on the gridiron that may develop into a future NFL star.
