Deion Sanders issues a reality check to son Shilo ahead of NFL Draft 2025 while praising resilient attitude

Deion Sanders' sons, Shio and Shedeur, are set to enter the 2025 NFL draft. While many believe that Shedeur will be an early first-round pick, there have been questions about when Shilo could get drafted.

When Sanders made an appearance on the "Million Dollaz Worth of Game Podcast," he issued a reality check to Shilo, while also praising the cornerback's attitude.

"You know Shilo has a situation where he gotta work his butt off to go where he wants to go in whatever round that is gonna be," Sanders said on the YouTube episode that was uploaded on Sunday. "But he's always had it tough." [Timestamp: 9:51]

"He's resilient though. God has always worked with him that way. He is going to have to really go get it but I like that."

Shilo began his collegiate career at South Carolina in 2019. He then transferred to Jackson State after two years with the Gamecocks.

In 2023, Shilo followed his father 'Coach Prime' to Colorado. The cornerback had a strong final year with the Buffs, where he recorded 67 tackles (45 solo), 1.0 sacks, two passes defended and one forced fumble.

Now, it remains to be seen whether Shilo has done enough for an NFL team to invest in him. The cornerback will also have the NFL Combine in a few months where he can impress a few of the pro teams and boost his draft stock.

Over the past few weeks, there have been rumors about Deion Sanders potentially leaving Colorado to coach in the NFL after his sons go pro. Since then, some reports have claimed that the Las Vegas Raiders might be looking to hire Coach Prime for their franchise.

However, on Monday, reports from The Athletic have suggested that the Raiders do not have any interest in hiring Sanders. As things stand, Coach Prime is set to remain in Colorado for the 2025 season.

In his two years with the Buffs, Sanders has compiled a 13-12 record. He signed a five-year, $29.5 million contract with CU and is tied to the team through to the 2027 season.
