The Colorado Buffaloes were known for beating opponents with their star talent this season. Although quarterback Shedeur Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter were the clear standouts on the team, they had other stars that helped carry the team to a strong season.

The NFL has started to invite players to the NFL combine based on the requests of NFL teams. Notably, Buffaloes star wide receiver LaJohntay Wester did not receive an invite. As a result, Deion Sanders Jr., son of Colorado coach Deion Sanders, went on X on Sunday to call out the NFL.

"Where's LaJohntay Wester Combine Invite NFL?" he wrote.

Wester came to the Colorado Buffaloes this past offseason after four years with the Florida Atlantic Owls. In the increased competition at Colorado, Wester had a strong season, logging 74 receptions, 931 yards and 10 touchdowns.

It was only a small decrease in his stats from the previous season with the Owls, with whom he was facing much weaker competition. That season, he had 108 receptions for 1168 yards and eight TDs.

Despite Wester's strong season for the Buffaloes, he has not received an invite to the scouting combine. According to the NFL combine's official website, players eligible for the 2025 NFL draft were able to contact the combine office starting on Jan. 2. The combine would divulge the player's combine selection status directly to the player.

However, an official list of players invited to the combine has not been announced.

Colorado Buffaloes will have other star players at the NFL combine

LaJohntay Wester has not received an invite to the NFL combine based on the X post from Deion Sanders Jr. There is still time for him to get an invite, but even if he does not, the Buffaloes will have a few of their star players at the scouting combine.

The Buffaloes had two of the biggest stars in the 2025 NFL draft on their roster this season. Both quarterback Shedeur Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter are projected to be top-five picks in the upcoming draft.

Shedeur Sanders could be the first overall pick, as the Tennessee Titans own the pick and are in need of a young star quarterback. The New York Giants, at third overall, and the Las Vegas Raiders, at sixth overall, are also possible landing spots for him.

For Hunter, he could be drafted by any top team that does not want a quarterback. Notably, the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars, at fourth and fifth overall, already have young quarterbacks.
