Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, alongside potential No. 1 draft pick Shedeur Sanders, will suit up for the Colorado Buffaloes for the last time, as they play in the Alamo Bowl. The game will be against their Big 12 rival, the 17th-ranked BYU Cougars, on Saturday.
The preparation that Hunter and Shedeur have done has been documented by Deion Sanders Jr., who has been filming the program all season long.
In his latest video posted on TikTok, Sanders and two other players are on a roller coaster.
This is part of what Deion Sanders Jr. has described as the players' Alamo Bowl activities. These are fun things that players are doing before the big game on Saturday.
For Hunter and Shedeur, the events are a final chance to spend time with their teammates before the attention turns to more important issues.
Once the game has finished, the focus for Shedeur and Travis Hunter turns to the 2025 NFL draft. This is something that the two players have been preparing for all season long, but the coverage is only going to ramp up in the coming months.
Shedeur is expecting to be the No. 1 draft pick, while Hunter could be a threat to the position, but it's all dependent on which position he decides to play.
Whatever happens in the future, the activities provide a calm before the storm.
Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are insured if anything were to happen
Recently, many top players who are potential high draft picks have not played in their team's bowl games. There are numerous reasons for this, with injury being a main factor. An injury in what is essentially a meaningless game will only have a negative impact on the players' draft stock.
But Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are going to play in the Alamo Bowl. To protect them, Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders said on Monday that he has taken out a large insurance policy for the players:
"We happen to have two players that are probably gonna be the first two picks of the NFL draft. And they have received, I think, the highest number of coverage that has ever been covered in college football. ... It far exceeds anyone (who) has ever played this game of college football."
This is something that is rare in college football, but it's the best way to cover any losses that the players may make from their rookie salaries in the NFL if they were to be injured.
