Following a difficult 4-8 season last season, the Colorado Buffaloes, led by coach Deion Sanders, have turned things around this season. With a 34-23 victory over the Cincinnati Bearcats in Week 9, the impressive Buffs are 6-2.
This was Colorado's second straight win since losing to Kansas State in Week 7, and it puts them into the latest AP Top 25 rankings, a significant milestone for a team that has struggled in recent years.
Coach Prime’s eldest son, Deion Sanders Jr., proudly shared the news on social media, posting stories celebrating Colorado’s new #23 ranking after their Week 9 win.
The Buffaloes have four games left on their schedule with no top-ranked opponents in sight. This puts them in a strong position to keep improving their record and close out the season on a high note.
Deion Sanders Jr. highlights the bond between Shedeur and Travis
Deion Sanders Jr. also shared another post on his story from his alternate account, "Well Off Forever," highlighting a moment when Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders was sacked by Bearcats linebacker Jared Bartlett.
Shedeur appeared frustrated, seemingly venting to Travis Hunter, who might have run his route a bit slowly, leading to the sack.
Travis took responsibility for the mistake. Deion Sanders Jr. shared this post, which was captioned as:
“Real brothers & teammates. Travis never gets in his feelings when there’s a disagreement or correction. That’s how it’s supposed to be.”
Shedeur and Travis had an outstanding game on Saturday. Shedeur completed 25 of 30 throws for 323 yards and two touchdowns, while Travis, his go-to receiver, caught nine passes for 153 yards and scored twice.
Both players have started all games this season. Shedeur has already thrown for 2,591 yards with 21 touchdowns, six interceptions, and an impressive 73.3% completion rate.
Travis, playing both wide receiver and cornerback, has 60 catches for 757 yards and eight touchdowns. On defense, he has made 21 tackles, intercepted two passes and defended seven.
Together, they have taken Colorado’s game to the next level and are expected to enter the 2025 NFL Draft.
