Colorado Buffaloes wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr. announced last week that he had been invited to the NFL combine that will be held at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis between Feb. 27 and March 2. Horn's season was plagued by a lower-body injury, forcing him to miss most of November's action.

On Sunday, the Buffs wide receiver posted snippets of his time in Boulder on Instagram. He captioned the post:

"I put my all in dis shii Ik it’s something great ahead waiting fa me💯," Horn wrote.

Buffaloes coach Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders' ever-supportive eldest son, Deion Sanders Jr., reposted Horn's post on his Instagram stories with a one-word reaction.

"Legendary," Sanders wrote.

Jimmy Horn Jr. has gotten support from the Sanders family

Jimmy Horn Jr. has been the recipient of a lot of support from Colorado coach Deion Sanders. During Senior Day, when players typically walk out onto the field with their parents, the wide receiver walked out with Coach Prime, who later also walked out with his sons, Shilo and Shedeur Sanders.

During his weekly news conference before the senior day clash against the Oklahoma State Cowboys, the charismatic Buffs coach revealed how Horn had asked him for the favor of walking him out onto the field.

"Jimmy is like my kid, I love him that much," Sanders said. "We've talked about some personal things throughout his couple seasons here. I want to go with him Sunday to see his father as well. But he just turned around and asked me. So that's how that transpired. And I said, ‘You don’t have to ask me twice. I got you. I got you.'
"I don't want to think about it too much because I'll get emotional. I don't just coach these young men. I love these young men like they're family. I just want them to soar. Not just from the football aspect, but as young men in life."

During his weekly news conference before the Alamo Bowl, the NFL-bound Shedeur Sanders also hyped up Jimmy Horn ahead of the NFL draft.

“Jimmy Horn is definitely fast," Shedeur said. "I’m really disappointed right now because Jimmy was playing through a lot of injuries this year, so I take that personally that he wasn’t able to get the numbers and able to do what he was supposed to do, because we had big plans, big everything with him, so that kind of really hurt me.
“He hasn’t been able to show his best yet. So maybe it’s not, you know, the perfect time right now for him to hit his peak. Maybe it’s, you know, year three or year four in the league."

Due to his injuries, Jimmy Horn tallied 441 yards on 37 receptions and one touchdown this season but was still ranked as the No. 142 prospect in the 2025 NFL draft class by CBS Sports draft analyst Josh Edwards in his latest mock draft.
