Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders almost dragged the Buffaloes to a spectacular comeback win in the Week 7 game against the No. 18 Kansas State Wildcats. This came after the team lost its main offensive weapons, including Travis Hunter, Jimmy Horn Jr. and Omarion Miller, to injury. Sanders threw for 388 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in the 31-28 loss.

Off the gridiron, there was better news for the $5.8 million NIL-valued quarterback (as per On3) who also dabbles in music. His song, 'Perfect Timing,' hit two million plays on Apple Music this week.

Shedeur's elder brother, Deion Sanders Jr., celebrated his younger brother's achievement by reposting the graphic of the achievement on his Instagram stories alongside a picture of the QB.

Shedeur tops the NIL 100 list with his $5.8 million valuation and his marketability has seen him snag deals with brands like Nike and Beats By Dre ahead of his move to the NFL via the 2025 draft.

How Shedeur Sanders' music caused controversy

Earlier this season, Denver Sports reported that Colorado coach Deion Sanders had ordered the Buffaloes band not to play the program's customary fight song after his son, Shedeur Sanders threw a touchdown pass. The report had it that Sanders wanted them to instead play Shedeur's song, "Perfect Timing."

After the allegations went viral, a Colorado athletics spokesperson released a statement refuting the claims.

“This is not true,” the statement read. “Nobody ever asked the band to refrain from playing the fight song. After a touchdown, the band plays 'Glory, Glory, Colorado' and after a point after touchdown, the band plays 'Fight CU' as has been standard practice for years.
“When Shedeur Sanders scores, the band will wait a moment a moment for a small snippet of Shedeur’s song to play before immediately kicking into 'Glory, Glory, Colorado.' This is exactly what happened during the game against North Dakota State. This practice is not unique to Shedeur, as the band will wait a moment after a successful field goal to play Alejandro Mata's song before playing 'Fight CU.'”

Deion Sanders also railed against the claims made against him and his son, and asked for the media to be more responsible with their reporting.

Shedeur Sanders released "Perfect Timing" in May, mimicking his famous father, who also indulged in music during his playing days in the NFL. Deion Sanders released the "Prime Time" album in 1994 and even performed on "Saturday Night Live."
