Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders signed off regular season college football in stylish fashion in front of a packed Folsom Field on Saturday. He registered 438 passing yards, resulting in five touchdowns in a 52-0 blowout of the Oklahoma State Cowboys in Week 14 of college football action to complete a 9-3 regular season for the Buffs.
On Monday, the Buffs quarterback celebrated his eldest brother, Deion Sanders Jr.'s birthday alongside some of his Colorado teammates, including offensive tackle Jordan Seaton.
Deion posted the $6.2 million NIL-valued Shedeur's (as per On3) black-and-grey Maybach on his Instagram stories after the birthday party broke up for the night.
Marketable Shedeur Sanders seeks to build generational legacy
Ever since Bronny James departed for the NBA via the 2024 draft, Shedeur Sanders has been untouchable in the NIL rankings in college sports. His NIL deals with prominent brands like Under Armor and Beats By Dre have made him the most marketable student athlete ahead of LSU Tigers gymnast Olivia Dunne and his Colorado teammate, the Heisman Trophy-contending Travis Hunter.
Shedeur Sanders bagged a lucrative NIL deal with Nike in August reminiscent of Coach Prime's deals during his baseball- and football-playing career during which he got several signature cleats, including the 1996 Nike Diamond Turf TD, which propelled him to household name status.
During an episode of his "2Legendary" podcast, Shedeur revealed how he was going to approach signing a deal with Nike like his father before him.
"I would want to build on it. I want to build on it," Shedeur said. "Have like a different version. But I think concept, because I feel like it's more … like now, like, just looking at life and looking at everything, it's more about generational.
"It's more about what could be passed down year after year after year after year rather than everybody starting to think they're whole new wave and whole new because there's no real substance behind it. Everything that's great has to have a story behind it. Every great player has to have a story behind it.
"So, I feel like when it comes to design, anything like that, it always has to have a great story behind it."
In May, Shedeur Sanders made himself even more marketable when he released the popular single "Perfect Timing," mimicking his father, Coach Prime, who released his "Prime Time" album in 1994 at the height of his fame in the NFL to continue his star-turn trajectory.
