Colorado coach Deion Sanders has urged one of the 32 NFL teams to hire ESPN analyst Louis Riddick as a general manager. On Wednesday, Coach Prime tweeted a message about Riddick, who previously worked as an executive for the then-Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles.
“@NFL please understand what I’m saying 1st & foremost. @LRiddickESPN is a darn GM presently excelling at calling games and giving @espn brilliant content when he’s in studio. Don’t say I didn’t tell u. Just keeping it (100 emoji) with u as usual. #CoachPrime," Sanders tweeted.
Riddick was an NFL running back for eight years from 1991 to 1998. He then served as a pro scout for the Redskins from 2001 to 2004 and then held the position of director of pro personnel from 2005 to 2007.
In 2008, Riddick was the pro scout for the Eagles. He was the assistant director of pro personnel for the franchise in 2009 and then was the director of pro personnel in Philly from 2010 to 2013.
Since leaving his role as an NFL executive, Riddick has worked as an analyst at ESPN. However, there are suggestions that he wants to return to his old job as an executive for a top NFL franchise.
According to reports, Riddick has recently interviewed for front-office jobs with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Houston Texans and Detroit Lions. Sanders, who has his two sons, Shilo and Shedeur, entering the 2025 NFL draft, is now promoting Riddick to get a job with a top franchise.
Deion Sanders' Colorado suffers defeat against BYU in Alamo Bowl
Deion Sanders' Colorado suffered a 36-14 defeat to BYU in the Alamo Bowl on Saturday to finish the season with a 9-4 record.
Sanders has worked his magic at Colorado this season. Coach Prime was hired by the Buffs in December 2022 and led the program to a rather underwhelming 4-8 record in his first season at the helm.
However, this season, CU qualified for a bowl game and even got close to securing a spot in the College Football Playoff.
While Sanders' work with the Buffs has garnered interest from NFL teams and other top college programs, Coach Prime has insisted that he plans to remain at Colorado next season.
