Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders was at risk of losing his left foot in 2022 after some complications following routine surgery. The doctors then decided to amputate his big left toe and second toe to avoid further medical issues.
Deion Sanders recently posted a video on Instagram where he is seen having a pedicure on his left foot. Several Colorado players, including his son, Shilo, decided to visit him. He went on to talk about experiencing phantom pain in his legs, where the toes were supposed to be.
"You know what actually happened was, honestly this is no joke. Sometimes it hurt where the toes are suppose to be," he said.
He also used this opportunity to share a thought-provoking caption, giving his fans wisdom about unwanted burdens.
"Sometimes in life We carry around things that are no longer with us but yet we still feel affecte by it. Remember to let those things go that no longer serve you."
Deion Sanders was suffering from three life-threatening blood clots, which were addressed following his amputation. Despite having two more surgeries last year for blood clots on both his feet, Coach Prime is now in a much better state.
Deion Sanders is confident about Colorado Buffs' 2024 campaign
There was a lot of hype surrounding Coach Prime's arrival in Boulder from Jackson State last year. However, Colorado went on to finish with a disappointing 4-8 campaign, failing to qualify even for the bowl games.
But Sanders went to work in the offseason, revamping both the coaching staff and his roster, especially his O-line, after they failed to protect QB Shedeur Sanders on the field.
During a recent interview with Joel Klatt, Deion Sanders opened up about his expectations from the Buffs' upcoming season as members of the Big 12. He stated that he believes the team has gotten 'better' since last year and that there will be more additions to the program very soon.
"I think we're better, not only on the field, we're better off the field, and that's not the insult to the guys that were here the previous year, but I think we got better man. I think I'm better. I think the whole thing is better. And we're not done," Sanders said.
"We're probably gonna have 10 to 15 more grown men that can help us right now on special teams, as well as offensively and defensively added to this team. Few from high school, several from the portal. I love where I know we're headed," he added. (25:30)
With the new era of the 12-team playoff format beginning this year, Deion Sanders and his team have the opportunity to compete for a spot in the playoffs. Can he and the Buffs be a potential contender for the natty before his sons Shedeur and Shilo transition into the NFL?
