Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders, riding a 4-1 record this season, shared a heartfelt moment with fans via Instagram. In a post featuring his impressive pool, he expressed deep gratitude, saying:
“LORD I thank you.”
Although his team’s only loss came in Week 2 against Nebraska, they bounced back in Week 5 with a big win over UCF, enjoying a bye in Week 6.
On Instagram, Sanders reflected:
“Lord I thank for the Peace, the Joy, the Love & the Appreciation for what all you’ve Provided! I’ve had things when I weren’t serving u and I couldn’t enjoy them.
“But NOW!!!!!!!!, Lord I promise not to allow several hours to pass with me saying LORD I thank you. In JESUS name AMEN!!!!”
Despite expressing his gratitude, Sanders isn’t letting his team take it easy. Ahead of their Week 7 showdown with No. 18 Kansas State, he challenged his players with a passionate message.
"Y'all think y'all arrive, right?" Sanders asked [H/t Athlon Sports]. "Y'all ain't done nothing, man...Nah, we supposed to be here...We supposed to do this. Quit acting like it's a surprise. it shouldn't be a surprise to y'all, cause it sure ain't no surprise to me."
Sanders is setting the tone for a serious week of practice as the team gears up for their next challenge. The Buffaloes face Kansas State on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 8:15 p.m. Mountain time, aiming for a top-25 win at Folsom Field.
There’s a good chance Deion Sanders’ Colorado will break into the top 25 next week
Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes are making moves in the AP Poll without playing a game this week.
Despite having a bye, the team picked up two extra votes in the Week 7 AP Top 25 rankings. Sanders and his squad now have three votes, a slight bump from their one vote after beating UCF in Week 6.
With a solid 4-1 record (2-0 in the Big 12), Colorado is gearing up for a huge home game against Kansas State in Week 7.
Randy Johnson of the Minnesota Star Tribune ranked Colorado 23rd in his AP ballot, accounting for all three votes. Johnson also gave Colorado its only vote last week. In the US LBM Coaches Poll, the Buffs grabbed 16 votes this time around.
If Colorado can pull off a big win over No. 18 Kansas State, there’s a good chance they’ll break into the top 25 next week.
