Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders weighed in after his sons and other team members were invited to the East-West Shrine Bowl next year. Coach Prime has led his No. 16 CU to its best season since 2016. Quarterback Shedeur Sanders and safety Shilo Sanders are among six Buffaloes' players who have performed well and earned a spot to compete in the Shrine Bowl on Jan. 30.

Sanders reacted to his players' accomplishments on his Instagram stories Wednesday afternoon with a two-word comment.

"We Coming," Sanders wrote.

Shedeur and Shilo will be joined by Colorado wide receivers Jimmy Horn Jr., Will Sheppard and Lajohntay Wester and safety Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig. Their participation will set a record for the most players from a single team to compete in an East-West Shrine Bowl. The milestone is another milestone for Deion's turnaround of the program.

"Right now, I'm so focused on us,": Deion Sanders refuses to be petty toward naysayers

Colorado (8-2, 6-1 Big 12) is on a hot streak after winning its last four games. The team had a commanding 49-24 victory over the Utah Utes (4-6, 1-6) on Saturday. The Buffaloes' chances of making the College Football Playoff also improved after the No. 14 BYU Cougars (9-1, 6-1) lost 17-13 to the Kansas Jayhawks (4-6, 3-4) on Saturday.

At a news conference on Tuesday, Deion Sanders was asked if he had anything to say to the critics who doubted his coaching ability.

"Every once in a while, I get petty," Sanders said. "Right now, I'm so focused on us and so locked in on what we have in front of us. I ain't got time to look at naysayers. I glory on positivity, not the negativity."
