The Manning Award is given to the best quarterback in college football. Former winners of this prestigious award include Jayden Daniels, Joe Burrow and Tim Tebow.
The awards watch list was released on Thursday. But did Arch Manning, who belongs to the prestigious family of quarterbacks the award is named after, make the shortlist?

Arch Manning was not named on the shortlist for the 2024 Manning Award. This is not surprising. The awards celebrate the best quarterbacks in the most recent season. Considering Manning barely played in 2023 and isn't likely to play much this season also, it is understandable that he is not in the running for the award.

Here are some of the quarterbacks who did make the Manning Award shortlist.
Quinn Ewers (Texas Longhorns)
Arch Manning did not make the list, but his teammate at Texas did make the shortlist.
Quinn Ewers was able to lead the Longhorns to a successful 2023 season, in which the program won the Big 12 championship in their final year in the conference.
His success is likely to continue into 2024, where Ewers is one of the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy and could add this award to his collection.
Carson Beck (Georgia Bulldogs)
Carson Beck took over the starting quarterback role for the Georgia Bulldogs in 2023, and like Ewers and Texas, had a successful 2023 season.
Beck threw for 3,491 yards and scored 24 touchdowns as the Bulldogs had an undefeated regular season. They were cruising towards another appearance in the College Football Playoffs.
Defeat to Alabama during the SEC championship game put an end to their hopes, but Beck is back in 2024. He is likely to pick off where he left off in 2023, with the hopes of making the national championship game this season.
Shedeur Sanders (Colorado Buffaloes)
The son of Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders is also in contention for the award. While the Buffaloes struggled in 2023, Shedeur Sanders was one of the team's bright spots, being the reason why they were able to stay competitive in many of the games.
Sanders threw for 3,230 yards and scored 27 touchdowns in 2023 and is widely expected to do the same in 2024.
