Zoe Caswell, the fiancée of Oregon Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel, has accepted the Oregon family with all of her heart, including coach Dan Lanning and his wife, Sauphia Lanning. She took center stage again with her love for the Oregon family, sharing a heartfelt message of encouragement for Sauphia, the wife of Oregon head coach Dan Lanning, back when she courageously defeated cancer.

Caswell reshared a story from Sauphia, expressing solidarity and admiration during the Ducks' first lady’s difficult time with the caption,

"The strongest woman."

The original post was a deeply emotional piece from Sauphia herself, who reflected on her husband's love during her most vulnerable moments. She made her gratitude felt for him by writing,

“I was sick, I was skinny, I was bald… He just looked at me with the same eyes, the same adoration. And I just get emotional thinking about that.”

Caswell’s role within the Oregon community has grown quickly, paralleling Gabriel’s journey for the team this season. The quarterback’s fiancée went from relocating to Eugene to support Gabriel’s transition to the Ducks to becoming a vocal cheerleader for the team and its extended family.

Not to forget, Dillon has led the Ducks under Dan Lanning to an undefeated season and emerged as a top contender for the Heisman Trophy, and Caswell’s presence has been his constant source of strength.

Dan Lanning's wife Sauphia Lanning used cancer inspiration for Oregon jersey

The Oregon Ducks took the field in their all-yellow "Heroes" uniforms for their Week 6 showdown against Michigan State, intriguing fans with their monochromatic choice. While it was an interesting design, it wasn’t just a display of team spirit. It was a deeply personal tribute, designed by Dan Lanning and his family, to honor those who have fought cancer, as Lanning’s wife, Sauphia, battled and overcame bone cancer in 2017.

"I was on a plane and I started sketching it out. The idea just came to me," Sauphia shared. "One really cool thing that I'm so glad was kept was the medical symbol that's put on for the doctors and the nurses, the true heroes."

The jerseys feature a yellow ribbon, hand-drawn by Sauphia, symbolizing her fight with osteosarcoma. But that’s not all. The design also included an ice cream cone, representing the sweet moments the Lanning family shared after her treatments and the molecular structure of her chemotherapy, known as the "red devil."

Oregon's Football Equipment Administrator, Kenny Farr, expressed his pride in the thoughtful design, saying,

"I always get excited about those games and those uniforms because it's a bigger cause than just football. And with it being so close to the first lady of Oregon football, this one's extra special."

Farr is known for his innovative designs with the Ducks, and Dan Lanning's design also became one of his favorites.

“This is one of my favorite ones we’ve ever done just because I know the story and I know the use,” he said. “We kind of tasked her and our boys to design a new uniform. We've done a few of these, but this is one of my favorites.”

The uniform was a team effort, with Ducks players like Traeshon Holden and Tez Johnson also lending their input to bring Sauphia Lanning’s vision to life and Zoe's kind words showed her support for Sauphia too.
