Dillon Gabriel's fiancée Zoe Caswell was left upset after Oregon crashed out of the College Football Playoff at the quarterfinal stage. The Ducks suffered a crushing 41-21 defeat against the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl on Wednesday.
After Oregon's postseason run came to an abrupt end, Caswell uploaded a video on her Instagram story to show fans her view from Rose Bowl Stadium. She also dropped a one-word reaction to sum up her feelings.
"#depressed," Caswell wrote.
Caswell had been supporting Oregon throughout its run in the 2024 season after Gabriel transferred to the Ducks in December 2023. She also celebrated Oregon's Big 10 title success this season as it went 13-0 in the regular season and was the No. 1-ranked team in the country.
However, the Ducks' playoff run didn't last long. They were second-best to the Buckeyes in almost every department during their Rose Bowl game.
Gabriel finished the game by completing 29 of 41 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns. He was sacked eight times and recorded -48 yards on 12 carries.
The loss against Ohio State was the Ducks' first this season. Unfortunately, due to the playoff circumstances, it ended their campaign.
Dillon Gabriel expected to declare for 2025 NFL draft after his sole season at Oregon
Dillon Gabriel started his college career with UCF in 2019. He then transferred to Oklahoma in January 2022 and spent two seasons with the Sooners.
After one season at Oregon, Gabriel is expected to declare for the 2025 NFL draft.
During his one year with the Ducks, he racked up 3,857 passing yards, 30 TDs and six interceptions. He also recorded 149 yards and seven TDs on 75 carries. Gabriel also finished third in the Heisman Trophy race, behind Colorado two-way sar Travis Hunter and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty.
While Gabriel has done all that he can to boost his draft stock, it will be interesting to see where he lands in the NFL.
