The Florida State Seminoles have not had the best start to the 2024 college football season. Coming into week four, the Seminoles were 0-3 (0-2 ACC), and their season expectations seem to be over.

This week, things aren't getting any easier for Florida State as they face ACC newboys the California Golden Bears at Florida. The Seminoles fans have not been welcoming to their quarterback, DJ Uiagalelei, as soon as he entered the field.

When Uiagalelei appeared on the screen at what appeared to be a half-empty Doak Campbell Stadium, loud boos were heard.

DJ Uiagalelei was announced as the Florida State Seminoles starting quarterback before the season started.

His college football career has had mixed results. He started with the Clemson Tigers, replacing star quarterback Trevor Lawrence, where he struggled to deliver.

He then transferred to Oregon State, where he was more successful. Florida State was meant to be the team that revitalised his career, but instead, his performance had been a prominent reason behind the poor results.

In the season so far, Uiagalelei has thrown for 666 yards and scored only one touchdown. His lacklustre performances have led to many fans not only turning on him but also on coach Mike Norvell and the Seminoles team as a whole.

DJ Uiagalelei is going to have to play every game like his job depends on it (and that might be the case soon) if he is going to give the Florida State Seminoles some pride this season.

DJ Uiagalelei becomes one of the major reasons behind FSU's downfall

The Seminoles have had a massive fall ever since the start of the 2024 season. Last year, the team was one of the best in college football, winning the ACC with an unbeaten season.

However, this team was controversially denied a spot in the College Football Playoffs, a decision in which many fans have linked to star quarterback Jordan Travis being injured.

Now, Travis is no longer with the team, as are running back Trey Benson and wide receiver Keon Coleman. They all got drafted to the NFL, and the Seminoles are clearly a weaker team for it.

Jordan Travis' replacement, DJ Uiagalelei, has not been great, and this team is paying for it. The success of last season is now a very distant memory for Seminoles fans, as they will need to adjust to this new reality of lacklustre performances.
