Deion Sanders led Colorado to a crucial victory against Baylor on Saturday night. It was a homecoming for the Buffaloes as they played their first game in the Big 12 since making a return to the conference. The Buffs secured a hard-fought 38-31 win over the Bears

The thrilling contest ended on a wild note with fans storming the field in celebration, despite the last play of the game being reviewed. Considering the jubilant atmosphere, Deion Sanders warned his player to celebrate responsibly.

“Let’s not get out there and do nothing crazy that would provoke the police to arrest you," Sanders said in a bid to ensure his players uphold discipline.

Deion Sanders apologizes to Baylor for the scenes at the end of the game

At the close of the game in Boulder on Saturday night, Colorado fans rushed onto the field while the last play was under review. This prompted security to step in and disperse the crowd. When the on-field ruling was upheld, affirming the Buffaloes’ win, the chaos reignited.

Amid the disorder, Colorado’s head coach, Deion Sanders, was unable to meet with Baylor’s head coach, Dave Aranda, for the customary postgame handshake. Coach Prime offered an apology in his postgame press conference.

"I want to apologize to our opposition (Baylor) the way we stormed the field," Sanders said. "I didn't get an opportunity to go and shake the head coach's hand, but I did try to go over to the locker room and wait it out until he came out, but I don't think they got the word to him because that's not professional. I wanted to shake his hand and acknowledge."

Deion Sanders doesn’t fancy how the game played out

It was a brilliant win for Colorado against Baylor on Saturday night but Deion Sanders didn't like how the game went. The Buffaloes had to stage a 14-point comeback in the encounter, the largest in Coach Prime's coaching career.

"I don't like how it played out, but I love the results," Sanders said. "I think we're so much better than what we're showing you at times. We keep showing you glimpses of running game, we're showing you glimpses of us playing hard-nosed, tough football defensively.”

Colorado improved to a 3-1 record following the win on Saturday, bringing the program closer to a bowl qualification. The Buffaloes had a horrible conference play in the Pac-12 last season, recording just one win. They will hope to avoid that in the Big 12 in the ongoing college football season.
