Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter and his fiancee, Leanna Lenee, were out of the public spotlight after receiving criticism and backlash in the past month. However, the couple returned to the spotlight in fashion on Tuesday during the SI Sportsperson of the Year Award ceremony at the Wynn in Las Vegas. Travis Hunter was named as the Breakout Star of the Year.
The two-way star wore an elegant black suit while Lenee wore a stunning red dress while posing with her fiancee. The couple was all smiles, and it looked like they still had a healthy relationship despite the recent turmoil.
Leanna Lenee was blasted after last month's Heisman Trophy presentation for not standing up and cheering for her fiancee when he won the award. In addition, alleged photos and posts of her partying with other men emerged on social media, with many criticizing Lenee for her party lifestyle. The couple deactivated their social media after a barrage of hate and criticism from online trolls.
Fans on social media cheered the couple for making a comeback and supported their relationship after their tumultuous few weeks.
One fan said that Hunter and Leanna should focus on continuing to grow in their relationship amid the backlash:
"Do your thang bro!!"
Another fan felt that people should just let Travis Hunter enjoy the success he had in his final collegiate campaign with the Colorado Buffaloes:
"Don't start dawg...man ain't smiled in 2 weeks let him enjoy his night frfr once in a lifetime moment for him!"
One fan sarcastically criticized the trolls for spewing hate about Travis Hunter and Leanna Lenee's relationship:
"Oh nooo she so controlling she won't even let him put his hand up smh he need to let her go I stg this is how stupid some of yall be sounding."

Travis Hunter has high-praise former Heisman winner Cam Newton
On Tuesday's episode of "The Travis Hunter Show," he was questioned about which former Heisman winner he would love to play with on the gridiron. Hunter replied by naming Cam Newton as his go-to person.
Newton won the Heisman during his one-season stint with the Auburn Tigers in 2010, when he led the program to the national championship and the SEC championship.
"It would be Cam Newton," Hunter said. "That's my coach. He matured me a little more. All the main people that were in my life, Cam Newton came up and took me. People were trying to use me and stuff like that, but he took me and put me on his team. He took care of me."
Hunter is considered to be a potential top pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft. However, there are still debates about whether he will continue playing both sides of the ball professionally or focus on nurturing his skills either as a cornerback or wide receiver.
