Many analysts predict that Shedeur Sanders would be one of the first quarterbacks selected in this year's NFL Draft. Yet, there are some like Former NFL scout Daniel Kelly who aren't so sure. From his X account, First round mock, Kelly responded to a DraftKings post hypothesizing a way the New York Giants could get the Colorado quarterback.

Kelly who worked with the New York Jets didn't quite agree with the DraftKings post, which implied the Giants would take Sanders with their newfound top spot after trading with the New England Patriots.

"Shedeur Sanders doesn't belong in this picture," Kelly wrote on X.

The proposed swap has the Giants shipping their fourth-overall pick, a second-round pick, a 2026 first-round pick, a 2027 second-round pick, and Brian Burns for the right to the No. 1 overall pick. Though the DraftKings post doesn't expressly say the Giants would take Shedeur Sanders with the choice, there's a picture above where he's edited into Big Blue's uniform.

This isn't the first time that Kelly has shared his thoughts on Sanders. He posted his thoughts about Sanders after watching film on the quarterback's showing against BYU in a 36-14 Alamo Bowl loss. Sanders was 16 of 23 for 208 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions against the Cougars. He was sacked four times.

"Went back and watched the tape this morning—Shedeur Sanders melted down like a snowman against No. 17 BYU," Kelly wrote on X. "Can't even imagine how timid and overwhelmed he will look against the speed and complexity of the #NFL"

Kelly also spoke about Sanders's contribution to Colorado:

"Not taking anything away from what Sanders meant to Colorado and their program —not trying to disrespect him, his program, his college accomplishments or his level of competition because I have respect for how hard they train, play and fight —but let's keep it real —now the conversation has changed – now we're talking about the NFL."

Why the Giants would be interested in Shedeur Sanders

The Giants have had their issues behind center this season, having cut loose former first-round pick Daniel Jones and turning to the likes of Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito. Lock guided the Big Blue to its first win since October on December 29, against Indianapolis.

That win also dropped the Giants in the draft order, which is why DraftKings is suggesting a possible route for the Giants to move up again. Shedeur Sanders completed 74% of his passes for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 10 picks this season. He had a quarterback rating of 75.5 for the year.

Heading into the final week of the NFL regular season, the Tennessee Titans own the No. 2 pick in the draft and the Cleveland Browns the No. 3 choice. Other QBs in the draft class are Miami's Cam Ward, Alabama's Jalen Milroe, Georgia's Carson Beck, and Texas' Quinn Ewers.
