Shedeur Sanders, son of Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders, faced a major lesson in discipline during his high school state championship game. After being ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct, Coach Prime, as Deion is known, wasn’t happy.

Shedeur, who played quarterback for Trinity Christian School in Cedar Hill, Texas, had his father as the offensive coordinator, making them a dynamic duo on the field.

In a video posted on Dec. 28, 2019 by Overtime SZN,” Shedeur opened up about the frustration that built up throughout the game. He talked about how late hits and questionable calls impacted his emotions.

He was overwhelmed by the perceived unfair treatment, which eventually led to him throwing a punch that got him ejected.

“I just feel all these emotions building up from the whole entire game from autumn late hits and all the bad calls really,” Shedeur said. “And they just come out.” [Timestamp - 14:32]

Right after the incident, Deion, quick to react, grabbed Shedeur by the collar and sternly reminded him:

“Don't you ever do this. Do you understand me, do you understand me, do you understand me,” Deion scolded Shedeur. “You are a man we don't play like that.”

Despite the tough moment, the duo had an incredible run together. Shedeur led Trinity Christian to a 13-1 record in 2019, earning their third straight Division II state title in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools.

With Deion calling the plays and Shedeur executing them, they won back-to-back state championships in 2018 and 2019.
