College football fans trolled Phil Knight after five-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson asked out of his NIL deal. Wilson plans on signing with the Florida Gators.

GatorOnline, part of On3, spoke to Wilson's agent Vernell Brown Jr. of EL1TE Sports Management Group, who said the receiver asked to be released from his financial affidavit.

The Ducks have to respond to Wilson's request by Thursday, and if he gets released, he plans to sign with the Gators. Following Wilson's request, college football fans trolled Phil Knight, the CEO of Nike and a big booster to Oregon.

"Where all those Oregon fans that said he wasn’t going there?" a fan wrote.
"Don’t guilt a kid into signing with you next time Oregon," a fan wrote.

Fans took aim at Knight for not being able to secure the top receiver with NIL money.

"He knows Oregon doesn’t produce good NFL WRs, it’s not like UF is producing good ones either… Lagway carrying the future of the program on his back," a fan wrote.
"checks bouncing over there finally?" a fan added.

However, some fans believe Wilson decided to stay close to home which is why he asked out of his agreement.

"Good decision, lagway and the Wilson boys are going to light it up in the swamp next year," a fan wrote.
"Hope he has a great career but why even sign if you're unsure. Doesn't make a lot of sense," a fan added.

Wilson had been committed to Oregon since Jan. 17, 2023. However, he continued to visit Florida and Miami as he kept his options open.

Dallas Wilson praises Gators QB DJ Lagway

Dallas Wilson is a five-star recruit and was the 26th-ranked player in the class of 2024 and the fourth-ranked receiver, according to 247Sports.

Despite being committed to Oregon, he attended Florida's win over LSU on Nov 16. and Wilson was thrilled with the team.

“Definitely did, definitely did. I promise, I did not think they were going to pull out the win. They shocked me. They showed me what I was looking for and I loved that,” Wilson said. “Miami and Florida were a close second. Now I think Florida’s pulling ahead.
“Lagway picked the team up, put them on his back, drove down the field. He definitely was a team player. Just loved the way he performed.”

Wilson said after the game, he had a good conversation with the coaches, which ultimately helped swing his decision.
