"Draft Ashton Jeanty": Bears fans want coach Matt Eberflus out and Boise State star RB in for Chicago 

Boise State Broncos running back Ashton Jeanty is having a spectacular campaign this season. He is a top favorite to win the Heisman alongside Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter. Jeanty also broke Boise State's single-season rushing record by tallying a total of 2,062 yards and 27 touchdowns rushing in 11 games.

Ashton Jeanty is also one of the top running back prospects in the 2025 NFL draft. He is considered to be a first-round pick given his talents and skills on the gridiron. And even though the draft is still a few months away, fans are already predicting and talking about which NFL team would be the best-case scenario for him.

After the Chicago Bears' 23-20 loss to the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day, former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III asked Bears fans on X/Twitter what the franchise should do moving forward after falling to 4-8 for the season.

One fan talked about how his team should fire head coach Matt Eberflus and look to draft Jeanty to bolster their offense:

"The smartest thing to do would be to fire Eberflus, hire Ben Johnson, and draft whomever is the best offensive line prospect there is in the Draft when they're on the clock. Which means they'll probably fire Eberflus, hire Aaron Glenn, and then draft Ashton Jeanty."

Another fan said that bringing in the Boise State RB to the Bears is the only salvation for the team:

"The Chicago Bears should draft Ashton Jeanty. Doesn't matter how high."

One fan laid out an entire offseason plan for the team after another disappointing campaign under Eberflus:

"Chicago Bears FC here's the plan for the off-season – Hire Ben Johnson or Kelly Dillingham, get Brian Daboll as OC – Draft Abdul Carter – Trade back into the first for Ashton Jeanty as he slips – Win the Super Bowl."

Another fan felt that the team should not draft Jeanty as the RB depth is not the Bears' top problem:

"Under no circumstances should the Bears be taking Ashton Jeanty. Running back isn't the problem."

One fan feels the team could have the best RB department in the NFL if they released Travis Homer and drafted Jeanty:

"When we cut Homer and trade up slightly to draft Ashton Jeanty the Bears will have the best RB room in the entire NFL."

One fan said the Chicago Bears should not waste their first-round pick drafting the Boise State RB:

"Absolutely not. It has to be oline or dline. a first round rb is a luxury. also we'll have a very early pick. No RB is worth that."

Ex-Steelers star De'Veon Bell showcases support for Ashton Jeanty's Heisman campaign while taking subtle dig at Travis Hunter

As per the latest FanDuel Heisman odds, Travis Hunter remains the favorite to win the award at -850. Jeanty is the second favorite at +550, making it a close contest between these two players. Former Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell took to social media to showcase his support for the Boise State RB.

In a tweet he shared on X, Bell said that Jeanty has better stats and should win the Heisman based on skills. He also took a subtle jab at Hunter by commenting how the coveted award is not a "popularity contest":

"If Ashton Jeanty doesn't win heisman, I won't watch another college football game.. he's the most electrifying player in all of college football," Bell said. "may not be the most 'POPULAR', but is heisman a popularity contest? this kids stats are unreal, and he's the BEST at his position."

The Boise State Broncos are scheduled to take on Oregon State in their final regular season game before competing in the Mountain West title showdown. Jeanty will be hoping to end his collegiate career by winning another conference title and competing for the natty by being a contender in the new 12-team playoffs.
