Week 2 of the 2024 college football season will begin on Friday. One of the games is the Duke Blue Devils going on the road to take on Northwestern, with kickoff set for 9 pm ET. The game will be shown on FS1.
Duke is coming off a 26-3 win over Elon in Week 1. Northwestern, meanwhile, beat Miami (OH) 13-6 at home in Week 1.
Duke vs. Northwestern: Prediction

Duke is led by transfer quarterback Maalik Murphy from Texas. Against Elon, he went 26-for-40 for 291 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
Murphy was the backup QB with the Longhorns last season but entered the portal to go to a school where he could start.
"I thought for his first game here, he played well. I really did. I thought his accuracy was really good, especially when you watch him spit out anything that's short and intermediate range and he's hitting guys in the face mask. It was impressive to see," Duke coach Manny Diaz said.
Northwestern ground out a 13-6 win at home at the temporary stadium. It was led by its defense, which Northwestern was confident in.
"There’s certainly some areas for us to continue to improve," coach David Braun said, via FOX32 Chicago. "You can sense that momentum in the second half where we’re starting to wear our opponent down. Our defense needs to continue to understand, when we get that sense, three and out, takeaway, we need to get it back to our offense."
Duke is a 2.5-point underdog on the road in what should be a close game. Northwestern's offense was terrible in Week 1.
However, with Murphy at quarterback, the Blue Devils' offense has been solid and should be able to have success against Northwestern's defense. It will be a close game, but the Wildcats will struggle to score, which will be the difference.
Prediction: Duke 20, Northwestern 13
