EA Sports will be releasing the College Football 25 on July 19 and Oregon is gearing up. The video game is marking a return after more than a decade of hiatus.
The series was released for years before a lawsuit involving the NCAA, Electronic Arts, and college athletes over the use of college athletes' likenesses created a roadblock after the release of NCAA 14. However, the advent of NIL in collegiate athletics has facilitated a revival of the game.
Ahead of the anticipated unveiling of the video game later this month by EA Sports, Oregon released a sneak peek of what to expect in the game on its social media page. The Ducks posted a pregame scene of the video game at the Autzen Stadium on X, captioning it with:
“We know where we’ll be July 19.”
Oregon ranked No.3 by EA Sports power ranking for College Football 25
EA Sports released the highly anticipated team power ranking for the College Football 25 video game on Friday and Oregon was ranked No. 3. The Ducks are sitting behind only Georgia and Ohio State with a 93 overall rating, putting the Ducks among the top teams in the game.
Oregon was also ranked the No. 2 offense in the game with a 94 overall rating, behind Georgia, who also boasts the same overall rating. The Ducks were also ranked No. 3 in defense with a 90 overall rating, sitting behind Ohio State and Georgia with 96 and 94 ratings, respectively.
This comes after Dan Lanning led the program to another successful season in 2023. The Ducks ended the season, which was their last in the Pac-12, with a 12-2 record and appeared in the Pac-12 championship game.
