EA Sports College Football 25 marks the return of a licensed NCAA football video game after over a decade. Since EA announced its return in 2021, hype for the game has been growing, peaking when they officially launched it on July 19.
However, there are certain aspects of a video game that may annoy gamers from time to time. One of those aspects is an issue with servers, which is a common occurrence with such high-profile games.
Given its popularity since being released, EA's servers have been handling extremely heavy traffic, particularly with its popular online gaming modes.
Here's a closer look at the latest server update of EA Sports College Football 25.
College Football 25 server update
On July 31, the CFBDirect account announced on X/Twitter that there would be server maintenance carried out on Aug. 1 at 6:00 a.m. ET. During that period, all online modes of the video game, including Team Builder, would be unavailable to gamers. This server update followed a minor patch update on July 30, which fixed certain issues with online H2H and the rare issue of the snap going behind the QB.
Three hours later, around 9:00 a.m. ET, the account revealed that the server maintenance was completed on all platforms. All online modes were back up and running again as soon as the maintenance was completed.
There are no mentions of any bug fixes with this latest server maintenance, which could mean only certain tweaks to improve server stability were made to improve the overall player experience.
How to tackle the "servers down" error message in College Football 25?
No video game is safe from this form of inconvenience. However, there are certain tips gamers can use should the "Failed to connect to EA server" error message come up on their screens.
The first thing players should do is check their internet connections. Sometimes the issue lies in an inactive internet connection, leading to this error message popping up on their screens.
The second thing that a gamer can do is restart their console or PC. Although a server update should bring more stability, it's possible that a particular system is yet to adjust to any changes. Hence, restarting it could increase the chances of the problem being resolved.
