After a decade-plus of not having an annual product in the market, EA Sports released College Football 25 to a ravenous uproar from the sports and gaming communities. The problem is that the uproar might be a bit too ravenous.

Many online gamers are finding themselves unable to compete in online gameplay modes, particularly the company's popular online dynasty feature.

EA Sports' servers are handling massive traffic, given the popularity of the new game and the desire of college football and video game fans to get a jump on the 2024 season. Here's more about the story and what to do about it.

Server Maintenance for College Football 25 took place on Sunday at around 6 a.m. ET. During this time, all online modes of the game including Team Builder were inaccessible. Now, according to a new tweet, server maintenance has been completed and all online modes including Team Builder are now up and running once again.

The website downdetector indicates that EA Sports' servers are functioning. That said, a quick check of the site reveals unusually high accounts of trouble with the game. 84% of the problems reported involved server connections.

Some of the issues are inevitable with a new game. Earlier this week, EA Sports created a mini-panic when the servers were down briefly for routine maintenance on the game. But with a game as popular as College Football 25, even dropping the servers briefly at an unusual time of day draws notice.

What to do if you receive the "EA Servers Down" error message in College Football 25?

Again, all games go offline periodically, even in the smoothest of times. Knowing that this hasn't been an exceptionally smooth rollout for EA Sports, prepare to be patient. That said, here are a few tips to keep in mind if you see the "Servers Down" message.

First, check your internet connection. The innate human tendency might be to blame EA, but the first and most likely culprit with a server issue is actually on the user's end. Making sure your internet connection is active might save you plenty of headaches down the line.

Second, restart your console. Whether it's tweaks to the game or system updates, it's not inherently impossible that the matter has actually been resolved, but your system is lagging a step behind. This step also helps because, let's be honest, it takes a minute. Giving your system the chance to catch its breath might just fix your problem.

Third, keep an eye out online for fixes or workarounds. For instance, it's not a game-changer, but one alert Reddit user found a way to utilize some of the features of the dynamic mode even if the servers are down.

It won't fix everything, but it might at least provide a possible mode of activity until things are up and running again.
