EA Sports College Football 25 was released on July 19 and included numerous new features for the latest title. One of the most exciting new features included in the game is the addition of player abilities.
There are 80 player abilities included in College Football 25, which can make it tough for players to learn them all. Here, we will look at a list of every ability included in the game and give a breakdown of how abilities work.

How ability tiers work in College Football 25
The 80 player abilities in College Football 25 are separated into mental and physical abilities, with each containing four tier levels. Each ability a player has will either be bronze, silver, gold or platinum tier.
Abilities do not offer any guaranteed outcomes, no matter what tier they are in, but the higher tiers will offer more of an advantage. Bronze abilities offer slight improvements to players, whereas platinum abilities offer ultimate boosts.

List of Abilities in College Football 25
- 360: Improved spin move ability
- 50/50: Improves defenders' ability to win jump balls downfield with a position advantage.
- Aftershock: Wear and Tear effects are increased on opposing players from each tackle.
- Arm Bar: Improved stiff arm ability
- Balanced: Improved ability to hold onto the ball against strip attempts.
- Ballhawk: Players can more quickly break on throws downfield after a pass has been thrown.
- Best Friend: Quarterbacks gain composure after throwing for a first down on third or fourth down plays.
- Blanket Coverage: The defensive back cuts quicker while in man coverage.
- Blow Up: Impact block attempts can more easily be beaten.
- Bouncer: Chucks performed in zone coverage will cause increased fatigue to receivers.
- Chip Shot: Kickers will have improved accuracy timing on the kick meter for short field goals.
- Clear Headed: Players are further protected from composure loss.
- Clutch Kicker: The kick meter will allow for easier accuracy timing on field goals with two minutes or less remaining in the game.
- Coffin Corner: Allows easier accuracy timing when punting from midfield or less distance from the opponents' end zone.
- Cutter: Cut moves are improved against man coverage except on double moves.
- Deep Range: Timing for accuracy is made easier for attempting a field goal over 50 yards.
- Defensive Rally: Each sack will raise the composure of all other defensive linemen.
- Dot: When the quarterback is facing no pressure and has their feet set, the accuracy is increased when throwing to open receivers.
- Double Dip: Double move routes will offer increased effectiveness against single-man coverage.
- Downhill: Break tackle ability is improved when sprint speed is at its highest.
- Duress: Pressure effects are increased when the defender is unevaded to the quarterback.
- Extender: Allows quarterbacks an improved ability to break sacks.
- Fan Favorite: Composure will increase at an improved rate when playing at home.
- Field Flip: Easier accuracy timing on punts from inside their own 10-yard line or further.
- Field General: Quarterbacks are able to view all blitzing players when on schedule.
- Grip Breaker: Lateral sheds are increased for ball carriers on run plays.
- Ground N Pound: Fatigue is added to a defender when a successful pancake block is executed on them.
- Hammer: Hit stick attempts have an increased chance of being successful.
- Headfirst: Truck moves allow for an increased chance of breaking tackles.
- Headstrong: Allows for hot routes to always be correct and can maintain composure from opponents' Stadium Pulse.
- House Call: Improves a player's ability to catch interception attempts.
- Inside Disruptor: The ability to shed single blocks on inside runs is increased.
- Inside Shield: Improves the blocking on inside runs when the players are near the line of scrimmage.
- Jammer: The defensive back's ability to press receivers at the line of scrimmage is increased.
- Knockout: Increases knockouts and will reduce broken tackles on catch attempts from receivers.
- Lay Out: Players have an increased ability to make diving catches.
- Legion: Increases the composure gain for defensive backs after an interception or pass breakup.
- Magician: Quarterbacks have increased agility when moving around the pocket.
- Mega Leg: Decreases the chance of suffering a penalty for overkicking on all kicks.
- Mobile Deadeye: Increases quarterback accuracy when making throws outside of the pocket or on the run.
- Mobile Resistance: Pressure effects are reduced on quarterbacks when running.
- The Natural: Weather effects will have less of an impact on the player.
- Off Platform: Quarterback will have increased accuracy while throwing across their body or off of their backfoot.
- Offensive Rally: Other offensive linemen will gain composure after a pancake block occurs.
- Option Disruptor: Block shedding is improved against single blockers when the offense executes an option run.
- Option King: Quick pitches on option plays will receive an accuracy upgrade.
- Option Shield: The offensive line will offer improved blocking on option plays while near the line of scrimmage.
- Outside Disruptor: Improves block shedding while going against single blockers on runs to the outside.
- Outside Shield: Improves blocking on outside runs near the line of scrimmage.
- PA Shield: Blocking on short-yardage first down play-action plays is improved.
- Pocket Disruptor: improves third and fourth down pass rush ability when over 7 yards are needed for a first down.
- Pocket Shield: Pass blocking on first and 10 or less is improved.
- Press Pro: Receivers have an increased ability to beat press attempts from the defensive backs.
- Pull Down: Quarterbacks have a higher chance of holding onto the ball while being sacked in the pocket.
- Quick Drop: Movement on standard pass plays is improved.
- Quick Jump: Pass rushers will jump the snap quicker.
- Quick Step: Pull blockers have improved movement.
- Recoup: Fatigue will recover more quickly when off the field.
- Resistance: Pressure has less of a negative effect on quarterbacks while in the pocket.
- Road Dog: Compsure gain is increased while playing on the road.
- Robber: Players have increased movement in zone coverage.
- Safety Valve: Players in the backfield have an increased ability to catch the ball.
- Screen Enforcer: Allows for better blocking while running a screen play.
- Second Level: Blocking at the second level is improved.
- Shifty: Speed level from ball carriers is not affected when making cuts and turns.
- Side Step: Effectiveness of juke moves is increased.
- Sidekick: Cut Blocks are improved when protecting the quarterback during pass plays.
- Sleight of Hand: Defenders are more easily faked out on play action attempts on first down with less than three yards to go.
- Step Up: Quarterback accuracy is increased when stepping up in the pocket and not under pressure.
- Strong Grip: Lateral shed prevention on run plays is improved.
- Sure Hands: Players are less likely to drop passes (excluding diving and jumping catches).
- Take Down: Defenders have an increased chance of broken sack attempts on quarterbacks.
- Takeoff: Receivers have a quicker release off the line of scrimmage against non-press coverage.
- Team Player: Out-of-position players have a decreased impact on their rating from negative plays.
- Wear Down: Pancake blocks on pass plays increase the fatigue to the blocked defender.
- Winning Time: Composure is increased in the fourth quarter.
- Workhorse: Players are protected from Wear and Tear effects.
- Wrap Up: Players are less likely to miss tackles and the effects of fakeouts on standard tackles are decreased.
Difference between mental and physical abilites in College Football 25
There are 13 different mental abilities in College Football 25 and are determined by a player's position. The most mental abilities a player can have at any given time is three, and mostly affects composure.
The remaining 67 abilities in College Football 25 are all physical and are determined by a player's archetype. Each player can have up to five physical abilities active at a given time. Physical abilities mostly affect a player's performance on the field and can offer attribute boosts.
