EA Sports College Football 25: Everything you need to know about recruiting in the highly anticipated game

EA Sports College Football 25 is set to be released this month, and more and more details about the game are being released. One of the most exciting game modes fans are looking forward to is the dynasty mode. Fans get to be a coach and recruit players to their program to try and win a national championship.

Ahead of the game's release on July 19, some news on recruiting in its Dynasty Mode has been revealed by EA.

According to On3, there will be more than 3,500 recruits each season in College Football 25. To make it more realistic, certain regions will have better players, like Florida will be known for speedy wide receivers, California will be known for quarterbacks and Texas will produce big physical receivers.

“Each season more than 3,500 recruits are generated from across the country. Just like the real world, every class is different. Some years have a plethora of great quarterback talent, while others have fewer great prospects,” EA Sports stated in a press release.
“Similarly, the quantity and quality of prospects from each region of the country will vary. Certain regions will be more consistent in the caliber, quality, and type of recruits they produce than others.”

Along with that, the recruits are all going to have different attributes in how to recruit them. A five-star will be motivated by national championships and getting to the NFL, while a two-star will care more about being close to home and academics.

“Every recruit will have three motivations that they care about," EA added. "These three motivations form what we call their ‘Ideal Pitch.’ During the Discovery stage, your job as a recruiter is to find their ideal pitch as fast as possible to determine whether or not they align with your program.
“If a recruit doesn’t align with your program, you are going to have an uphill battle to sign them.”

The developers have also introduced "Staged Recruiting," which has three phases: Discovery, Pitch and Close. Gamers will find in-game players in different stages of recruiting, which mimics real-world scenarios. The game has also made the NCAA transfer portal available for players to recruit from.

It seems like EA Sports went all out in trying to make recruiting as realistic as possible.

EA Sports College Football 25: NIL doesn't exist in the video game

One complaint about EA Sports College Football 25's Dynasty Mode is that NIL is not a part of the video game.

NIL has become a massive influence on college athletes and where they go out of high school and in the transfer portal. However, according to The Athletic, NIL is not in the game, and instead, schools can offer "Brand Exposure."

"'Brand Exposure' has replaced TV exposure and serves as the NIL stand-in during recruiting pitches. The explanation from EA folks was that the NIL landscape changes seemingly each month, and they didn’t want to commit to something only for it to change," The Athletic reported.

College Football 25 will be released on July 19 on Xbox Series X and PS5.
