Eli Manning tried to steal Arch Manning's spotlight ahead of his nephew's first start for the Texas Longhorns.

The former New York Giants quarterback took to X, formely known as Twitter, with a heartfelt post for his son Charlie, who played in his first flag football game on Saturday afternoon.

The next quarterback of the Manning dynasty has shown up early, getting his first start at just 6-years-old on Saturday morning.

Arch Manning was also scheduled to get his first collegiate start for the No.1 Texas Longhorns as a redshirt freshman in Week 4.

Manning earned his first start with an injury to Texas starter and Heisman hopeful Quinn Ewers, who injured his oblique in the Week 3 matchup versus UTSA. Arch Manning came in for the second half of last week's game and stole the show.

Manning completed nine of 12 pass attempts, throwing for 223 yards and four touchdowns. The quarterback also showed his rushing ability with a 67-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

Let's look at how Arch Manning performed in the first start of his collegiate career.

How did Arch Manning perform versus ULM in first career start?

Arch Manning made his first start for the Longhorns in Saturday's matchup versus Louisiana Monroe. All eyes were on the redshirt freshman as he prepares to take over the reins from Quinn Ewers after this season.

Manning showed flashes in his first start despite struggling at times throughout the game. He came out of the gates nervous, throwing an interception on his first drive to give ULM the ball.

The former No. 1 recruit from the 2023 class bounced back on his second drive, leading a seven-play, 77-yard drive capped off by a rushing touchdown from Jaydon Blue. Manning connected with Isaiah Bond for 56 yards, bringing the Longhorns to the 12-yard line.

From there, Manning completed two touchdown passes and helped Texas take a 28-3 lead into the half. The Longhorns cruised to a 51-3 win over ULM, with Manning completing 15 of his 29 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions.

With Ewers expected to miss the Week 5 matchup versus Mississippi State, Manning will likely get the chance to make his second start versus an SEC opponent.
