"Embedded it in me at a young age": Steve Sarkisian's wife Loreal reveals a Thanksgiving tradition taught by her mother

Steve Sarkisian's wife Loreal celebrated Thanksgiving with her mother on Thursday. She also revealed a longstanding tradition in the family, which she continues to uphold, thanks to her mother.

In a video posted on her Instagram story, Loreal explained why she carefully picked out her outfit for Thanksgiving.

"So, the other day, I did a survey about if I should get dressed [for Thanksgiving] or maybe not get dressed and wear something comfy," Loreal said while standing beside her mother. "Honestly, it really didn't matter. I hate to say that because I was always gonna get dressed.

"One, that is just me. And two, [my mother] embedded it in me at a young age. We always got dressed to sit around the dinner table on Thanksgiving, and Christmas, and in time that she thought we need to get dressed. So, I have my mom to thank for that."

Loreal also said that she would change into something more comfortable later in the day.

Steve Sarkisian's wife Loreal grew up in Tallahassee, Florida. Her mother was a track runner while her father played football. Loreal's sister also was a track athlete, while her brothers played football and baseball.

“We were very immersed in sports.On any given day, you would have found me at a game.” Loreal said in an interview with ATX woman.

Loreal also credits her father for training her as a track runner, which she later pursued professionally.

While at North Carolina A&T State University, Loreal ran the 400-meter hurdles and 100-meter hurdles. She competes in meets across Europe as well.

After drawing curtains on her athletic career, Loreal coached the men’s and women’s sprints and hurdles at the University of Southern California.

Loreal then ventured into fashion and now works with several top brands. She also has her own business called "Styled by Loreal" where she designs, manages, and directs product garments that are made from fabrics, materials and accessories.

On Nov. 13, Loreal announced the opening of her Lo's Wardrobe Bar.
