College football fans were left amused after former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban was linked to being Kamala Harris' vice president. On Sunday, Joe Biden stepped down as the Democrat nominee and endorsed Harris to run against Donald Trump in the election in November.
Currently, Harris has not been announced as the democrat nominee, but if she does, Saban was mentioned as a potential candidate to be her VP. Betting sites have odds that Saban would be the VP, and college football fans have mixed opinions on it, as some would vote for Harris and Saban.
"'VP Saban' lowkey got a nice ring to it," a fan wrote.
"I mean f**k it why not?," a fan wrote.
Other fans, meanwhile, don't think Saban should be Harris' VP if that does happen.
"This is WILD," a fan added.
"If this happens the state of Alabama will implode," a fan wrote.
Other college football fans, meanwhile, were torn about if they would vote for Harris if Saban was her VP.
"Honestly I’d ride with this," a fan added.
"i would vote blue if this happens, otherwise go trump," a fan added.
College football fans were torn on Saban being the VP, as some think he would do a good job, while others don't think the former coach should be involved in politics.
Nick Saban has longshot odds to be Kamala Harris' VP
Although Nick Saban is linked to being Harris' VP, the odds suggest it is highly unlikely.
Saban is given +25000 odds to be Harris' VP, which implies just a 0.4% chance of it happening, so it does seem highly unlikely.
The former Crimson Tide coach has also shied away from politics throughout his career except when he endorsed childhood friend Joe Manchin, who was a Democrat.
“Joe and I grew up together in West Virginia and he never forgets where he came from,” Nick Saban said in an ad released in 2018 (via Politico). “I don’t have a better friend or know a better person than Joe Manchin.”
Saban has yet to comment on potentially being Harris' VP, but for now, he remains a college football analyst for ESPN, as he was hired by the company after he retired as the coach of Alabama.
As a head coach in college football, Saban won seven national titles and went 292-71-1.
