Texas fans aren't happy with how veteran quarterback Quinn Ewers has started out during the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Cotton Bowl. The Longhorns went scoreless in the initial quarter of the game as Ohio State's offense has kept consistent.

Through Texas' first three possessions, Ewers went 6 for 9 through the air for 75 yards. He also coughed the ball up and has been sacked a few times, as well.

Longhorns supporters shared their feelings about what they've seen out of him.

"God Ewers is f*cking trash bench this bum already put manning in," @chingon15328 posted on X.

A few Texas fans appear ready to see the back of Ewers.

"All year. Unbelievable," a frustrated fan said of Ewers' uninspired play.
"I can’t wait for Quinn Ewers to leave Texas. We will NOT miss you," another fan wrote.

Is Quinn Ewers even a pro-ready passer? Not according to one fan, at least.

Other fans, however, aren't placing the blame on Ewers, but rather on those around him on the Longhorns' offensive unit.

Ewers will need to pick it up – and soon — if his team is to have any chance to beat an Ohio State team that has proven once again to be mighty. The Longhorns' defense is keeping them in the game.

Analysts raised idea of playing Arch Manning over Quinn Ewers before Cotton Bowl

In the lead-up to the game, On3's Ari Wasserman wondered whether or not Texas would be better off rolling with Arch Manning.

"I think that the only way that Texas beats Ohio State is if Arch comes into the game and provides an element that Ohio State's not prepared for — or that Ohio State is surprised by," On3's Ari Wasserman told his co-host, Andy Staples, on the "Andy & Ari" podcast on this week.

Others this week spoke of Quinn Ewers' limitations, saying that the Longhorns will have to get their run game going in order to open things up.

"That's who they are," On3's J.D. Pickell said. "That's who they wanna be. Now, Quinn Ewers is Quinn Ewers, and I think they still would like to push the ball vertical to some extent. But, you have to run the football. That is your fastball. You don't beat Ohio State without your fastball. Period, mic drop, the end."

Texas ran the ball nine times over its first three drives for all of two yards.

Before the game, it was reported that Ewers plans on entering the NFL Draft. His early performance won't be much for professional scouts to think positively of. There's a portion of the Longhorns' fan base that won't long for Ewers, a former five-star recruit who transferred in from Ohio State.
