After possibly being snubbed out of the College Football Playoff, Lane Kiffin's Ole Miss Rebels ended the season on a high, registering a dominant 52-20 win over the Duke Blue Devils in the 2024 Gator Bowl. Kiffin improved his bowl record with Ole Miss to 3-2, having won in the 2023 Peach Bowl as well.

Kiffin's celebrations were not limited to his players only. His thoughtful gesture for his kids following the win has earned him praise from fans.

Following the win, Kiffin posted a photo of his daughter Presley pointing at a Chili’s restaurant, captioned:

“We covered for Landry so .......”

The post immediately sparked a reaction among fans, with most of them impressed with Lane Kiffin, the father.

"Father of the year," one fan commented.
"😂😂😂 this is one of your better ones," another wrote.
"Applebee’s is better," another fan suggested.

The caption’s playful tone, referencing "covering" the betting spread in the game, added an extra layer of reaction among fans.

"How does this not get you in trouble talking about gambling odds?" one fan wrote.
"Thanks for the cover, sir," another wrote.

Ole Miss Rebels coach shares three children with his ex-wife, Layla. His first child, daughter Landry, is a sophomore at the university. His second daughter, Presley, is a volleyball player at USC. His youngest child, son Knox, is an aspiring high school football quarterback from the Class of 2028.

Kiffin and Layla, who married in 2004, parted ways in 2016.

Lane Kiffin revealed extra motivation within Ole Miss players following potential CFP snub

Something extra was there for Lane Kiffin's Ole Miss to prove. With a dominant Gator Bowl win, they might have just shared why they deserved to make the 12-team playoff field.

While an argument can be made as to why they didn't deserve it, it fueled a motivation within his group of players. This resulted in an impressive win while also registering their third 10-win season under Kiffin.

"Exciting day for Ole Miss, for the players, for the fans," Kiffin told reporters. "That’s a really good team that we played, a team that won nine games and had one of the best defenses statistically in the country. I think they were best in negative plays in the ACC, creating those, and very well-coached.
"I think our guys—I know our guys talked a lot over the course of the month, especially the last week, about making this statement, feeling that they were left out of the playoffs, so they really wanted to make a statement against an ACC team that had two teams in the playoffs and a team that they looked at as taking SMU to overtime."

The Rebels may not have made the playoffs this season, but the team has been making good strides since Kiffin joined the team as coach in 2020. He has led the program to 44-18 in five seasons thus far.
