This week's College GameDay was broadcast from Atlanta, Georgia, where the SEC Championship game between the Texas Longhorns and the Georgia Bulldogs will take place.
The show had all the usual things one would expect to see from a typical College GameDay program. This week, the celebrity guest picker was actor Timothee Chalamet, whose appearance on the show left some fans unimpressed.

"Not buying it for a second. He is obviously reading his responses that someone else prepared for him. He is an actor getting paid to act. ESPN should be ashamed for foisting this on the sporting public." said this fan
"Someone is feeding him lines haha," said another fan
"Elite reading a script knowledge. Be serious. From the 80’s? This kid wasn’t even alive then. Disney gave the kid a script so he didn’t look like an idiot on TV" said a third fan
In contrast, some fans were happy with what they saw from Timothee Chalamet.
"I tried to tell yall, but few would listen. I knew that Chad was gonna bring the heat" said this fan
"Never question this man’s ball knowing ability again. 🫡🫡" said another fan
"He’s been amazing I did not expect this from him at all" said a third fan
"Finally, a reason to trust Hollywood with football opinions." said an another fan
Why was Timothee Chalamet picked as guest picker for College GameDay?
Normally, the guest picker has some connection to the university where the program is being held.
As the game is being held in Georgia, Atlanta, College Game Day could technically pick someone who went to either the University of Georgia or the University of Texas.
So, does Chalamet fulfill this criteria? He does not.
Chalamet is originally from New York City and attended Columbia University, which is again located in New York City.
The reason why he was picked, instead of the many famous alumni from each university contending the game, is currently unknown.
However, some have speculated that he was there to promote his upcoming film "A Complete Unknown."
