"Fire Hugh Freeze": Fans call out Auburn coach after terrible Week 10 loss to Vanderbilt 

The Auburn Tigers (3-6, 1-5 Southeastern Conference) suffered a 17-7 loss on Saturday to the Vanderbilt Commodores (6-3, 3-2). The Tigers won 24-10 in the previous week to snap a four-game losing streak. It has been a disappointing season for them, and fans are getting impatient.

Fans have started to call for changes. One of the most common asks is for Auburn coach Hugh Freeze to be fired.

Many fans took to the comments section to express their frustration.

"Fire Hugh Freeze. Fire DJ Durkin. Fire Derrick Nix. Fire John Cohen. Fire Payton Thorne. Fire every mediocre Ole Miss-ass assistant coach on this staff. Fire them all. Tonight. Auburn can’t take this anymore," one fan wrote.

"They fired Harsin for absolutely no reason. But they're gonna keep this joke of a coach? Dude has literally nothing on his resume. He's a terrible coach. Jimbo had the #1 recruiting class in the country and still did nothing with it. Hugh Freeze is the same," one fan commented.

"Because he's 4-10 in conference play. And 9-13 overall. Auburn has now gone over a full calendar year without a home win against a P5 (4) team since Hugh Freeze got here," one fan added.

Other fans shared their opinion that the problem had nothing to do with the quarterback and more with the schemes Hugh Freeze is not adjusting.

"Carson Beck's last three games so far: Three touchdowns Seven Interceptions. It isn't the QB, it is the entire game plan and the stubbornness with a scheme that isn't working with the current players," one fan wrote.

"Auburn would be 7-1 with a coach who didn’t make asinine decisions and whose offenses weren’t turnover machines," one fan commented.

"We say that every year though, don’t we?!?! It’s all about next year. All about that one piece we need," one fan added.

Has quarterback been the main issue for Auburn this season?

With some fans calling for Freeze to be fired, others pointed out the issue at the quarterback position. Payton Thorne is the starter and has completed 134 of 213 passing attempts for 1,825 yards and 13 touchdowns. However, he has thrown seven interceptions and been sacked 23 times.

While has not performed at an elite level, he is not solely to blame. The whole Tigers' offense also has issues as evidenced by the 23 sacks, which could be caused by both coaching and personnel.
