Arch Manning has ensured Quinn Ewers gets the spotlight he deserves as the starting quarterback for the No. 3 Texas Longhorns. College football fans have wondered if Manning would take over the position again after leading the team earlier in the season while Ewers was hurt. A new revelation during the Texas' win over the Florida Gators revealed Manning is fully supporting Ewers as the team's starting quarterback.
Ewers led Texas (8-1, 4-1 Southeastern Conference) in Week 11 to an impressive 49-17 victory at home against the Gators on Nov. 9. He ended the game with 333 passing yards and five touchdowns.
"A to Z's" Texas Longhorns reporter Brian Davis noted on X (formerly Twitter) that during last Saturday's game, announcer Joe Tessitore shared Manning passed on doing a post-game interview earlier in the season to support Ewers.
"Interesting. ABC's Joe Tessitore says that Texas QB Arch Manning passed on a chance for a post-game TV interview earlier this season. Manning said "this is Quinn's team right now" and didn't want that spotlight."
Fans react to Manning's support of Ewers
The tweet garnered praise from fans, who expressed admiration of Manning's character. One fan felt his actions were typical as he comes from the Manning family.
"For sure a manning," a fan wrote.
"His family has trained him well in how to handle the media! His time is coming!!, another fan wrote.
"Kid is raised properly. Responsible parents," wrote a third fan on how his family raised him well.
More fans chimed in and agreed Manning is a class act.
"That's maturity and a man having extreme confidence in himself," another commented on X.
"He's the best player, wise beyond his years and so classy. Wouldn't have been wrong to take the interview but this just continues to elevate and confirm my high regard for him," a fan wrote in support of Manning's decision on X.
"You can only dream of having a backup like Arch," another fan replied on X.
