Travis Hunter has been the talk of the town ahead of this year's NFL draft. After winning the Heisman Trophy earlier this season, the Colorado two-way star is widely regarded as a top-three pick and there have been several discussions on which team should draft Hunter.
On Thursday, former Cleveland Browns wideout Josh Cribbs made his stance clear on why he feels the Browns should select Hunter if they can.
"I think whoever quarterback is at the helm for the Browns, we can do amazing things with a guy like Travis Hunter," Cribbs said on his show. "He could be something like Zay Flowers is to the Ravens right now. However, a lot of scouts picking Hunter are saying his main position should be corner.
"I think any organization that's lucky enough to have Hunter would be crazy not to use him both ways. Just like other players did it throughout the NFL and had very much success."
The Browns have the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL draft, only behind the Tennessee Titans. Since there are suggestions that Tennessee might look to draft a quarterback in the first round, Cleveland might end up with the opportunity to draft Hunter.
Travis Hunter expected to declare for 2025 NFL draft after stellar season with Colorado
Hunter is expected to enter the 2025 NFL draft following a stellar season with Colorado, in which he won several individual honors, including the Heisman.
As a wideout, Hunter posted 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns on 96 receptions. He also recorded 36 tackles, 11 passes defended, four interceptions and a forced fumble as a cornerback.
Hunter's exceptional displays in offense and defense helped the No. 20 Buffs finish the regular season with a 9-3 record. Colorado qualified for the Alamo Bowl, in which the Buffs lost 36-14 to No. 17 BYU.
Although Hunter can return to the collegiate level for the 2025 season, many believe that he will declare for this year's NFL draft.
