The Notre Dame Fighting Irish secured the services of wide receiver Beaux Collins from the transfer portal in December 2023 after he visited South Bend and did not consider any other programs afterward. The former Clemson Tigers star had 510 yards on 38 receptions resulting in one touchdown last season which is more than all of the Fighting Irish's wide receivers managed.

While speaking to the media, Collins expressed his excitement at finally being able to play for Notre Dame after they recruited him from high school in 2021 before he opted to join Clemson.

"There’s no other program with the exposure and respect they have week in and week out,” Collins said. “What also stood out to me was [Irish head coach Marcus Freeman] and the respect that he already has throughout the program from the top down. Joining up with other ballers on the offense is going to be a sight to see in the near future.”

Beaux Collins also spoke about the abilities that he will bring to coach Marcus Freeman's team.

"I feel like I can bring a lot of explosiveness, big-time plays, blocking downfield and aggressiveness," Collins said. "I feel like I'm a good asset to this team. Nothing less than a national championship this year. We have one mission on our minds and that's to get it all"

Beaux Collins recalls missing training with others

While Beaux Collins transferred to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in December, he could not play with them as he was still finishing up the last three courses of his undergraduate Business degree at Clemson.

He moved to South Bend to be with the Fighting Irish squad while studying online to finish his courses. He was still part of the team although he did not take part in spring practice.

After he was eligible to start training with the team, he explained how he handled not being able to train with his new teammates.

“The biggest thing that I feel like I missed was just being physically out there,” Collins said. “I was able to watch a few practices and get into the playbook and things like that, but there’s nothing like actually taking the reps, being out there and having cohesion with the guys.
That was the biggest thing. The classes weren’t too bad. I was still able to chill, eat, sleep, recover. It wasn’t a like a hard load.”

During his three-year college football career, Beaux Collins accumulated 1,290 yards on 91 receptions resulting in 11 touchdowns, showing the potential that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish recruited.

He will have talented quarterback Riley Leonard to throw to him which should be a significant step up from the resources he was exposed to at Clemson.
