Penn State DE Abdul Carter has declared for the 2025 NFL draft following their CFP semifinal loss to Notre Dame. Coming out of Sa Salle College High School in Wyndmoor, Carter committed to play for the Nittany Lions in 2022, and after three seasons, he has decided to transition into the professional league.

Abdul Carter made his draft declaration through a post on social media. This season, he recorded 68 total tackles, 12 sacks, two forced fumbles, and four passes defended on the gridiron.

Fans took to social media to react and share their thoughts on the Penn State DE's draft declaration and make their predictions. One fan felt that Carter would be a perfect fit for the New England Patriots:

"Patriot."

Another fan commented that Carter might catch the interest of the Carolina Panthers:

"Future Panther."

Others felt Carter would be one of the top picks in the 2025 NFL draft or just thanked him for his time at Penn State:

Abdul Carter expresses gratitude to HC James Franklin and the rest of the Penn State family

In his draft declaration, the defensive end took the time to thank his teammates for the memories on the gridiron. Abdul Carter also expressed his gratitude to James Franklin and the rest of the coaching staff for allowing him to shine on the field and develop his talents.

"To my teammates- it has been the greatest privilege of my life to take the field with you the last three years. The bonds we have built are forever and that is something I truly cherish," Carter said.
"To Coach Franklin and the entire coaching staff- thank you for making playing football at Penn State the best decision of my life. Being fron north Philly and Lasalle High School. playing here has always been a ream of mine for as long as I can remember.
"I will always be grateful for your commitment and dedication to helping me develop into the best version I can be on and off the field."

Abdul Carter led the nation in sacks and tackles for loss this season and it will be interesting to see if he becomes a top-10 pick in the first round of the draft in April.
