Kirby Smart has listed his house for sale.

The Georgia Bulldogs football coach Kirby Smart and his family have lived comfortably in a lavish 2.2-acre estate in Athens. However, according to Fox 5 Atlanta he has now listed his house for sale with an asking price of $4.2 million.

The house, located in Athens' Five Points neighborhood, is the most expensive listing in the area and features an original 1920s stone cottage. It has seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a wet bar and high ceilings.

Take a look at the property:

Kirby Smart’s wife noted in a 2017 interview with Atlanta Magazine that she was drawn to the property because of the old cottage originally built in the 1920s. The main house was then built in 2017. The amalgamation of a historic cottage and the new main house, sitting at 7,130 square feet, gives a special touch to the place.

“We had a set of unique needs for this home, which is one reason it took six months to find," Lycett said (via fox5atlanta.com). "There are times when we might host players and their families with all the coaches, and 75 people could be here at once.”

The home has hosted various star athletes and recruits ever since it was built.

Kirby Smart talked about the Bulldogs heading into the upcoming season with a chip on its shoulder

Kirby Smart became the head coach at the University of Georgia in 2015. Just two years later, in 2017, Smart purchased and renovated the house in Athens. That same year, he broke several records and led Georgia to its first SEC title since 2005.

In an interview with Paul Finebaum two weeks ago, the coach talked about the unique characteristics each team has and how to understand the specific needs of the players on the team.

“I think it’s different every year," Smart said (at 6:59 in the video below). "You have a different team. I’m trying to figure out exactly what this team needs. This team has been a little hungrier in spring ball because they didn’t win it. They weren’t in the playoffs. So there’s a little more motivation there.”

Since the Bulldogs were unable to advance to the college playoffs due to a loss against Alabama, the team is determined to prevent a similar outcome in the future.
