The Kirby Smart Scavenger Hunt at Georgia drew numerous top recruits, making it a star-studded recruiting weekend in Athens. Among the first to find Coach Smart was 2026 quarterback commit Jared Curtis and his family. This recruiting weekend was also abuzz with high-profile visitors, including standout prospects like David Sanders Jr and Bo Jackson.

CJ Wiley

Hailing from Milton, Ga., Wiley is a high-priority receiver for the Bulldogs. Wiley expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity at UGA, highlighting his status as a priority recruit.

“What excites me about the opportunity with UGA is that I am a priority and that they want me to be a part of their football program," Wiley told On3.

With 68 receptions for 1,468 yards and 14 touchdowns in his junior season, Wiley ranks No. 16 among receivers nationally by On3 Industry, which places him even higher at No. 6. Wiley plans an official visit to Georgia on June 7, with LSU, Texas A&M, Florida State, Auburn and USC also vying for his commitment.

David Sanders Jr.,

He is a top-rated offensive tackle and No. 2 prospect overall, and he visited Georgia as part of his spring tour. Sanders, who has officials lined up with Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama and Ohio State, spent considerable time with fellow players Mason Short and Tate Ratledge during his visit.

Bo Jackson

He is a top running back from Cleveland, Ohio, who found his visit to Georgia "amazing," and the Bulldogs made significant strides in his recruitment. Alabama and Ohio State remain strong contenders alongside Georgia.

Brock Harris

He is an elite 2026 tight end from Utah, praising the Georgia staff and the program's tradition of winning and producing successful tight ends.

“The tradition of winning and putting tight ends into the league,” Harris said. “The amount of usage the tight ends get in the offense is amazing. It’s hard not seeing myself in their system and being successful.”

Recent visits to USC, UCLA and Oregon add to his recruitment journey.

Georgia is also making a strong push for Zayden Walker, Travis Smith Jr. and Christian Garrett. Smith noted the excitement and energy in Athens, planning to announce his decision on July 13.

Kirby Smart eager for 2024 season amid record-breaking success

Georgia football head coach Kirby Smart is already eager to leave offseason discussions behind and focus on the upcoming 2024 season.

In an interview with Paul Finebaum, Kirby Smart expressed his readiness to move past the talk surrounding NIL deals and the transfer portal.

"I'm so excited to go out there and get an opportunity to play," Smart stated. "I'm tired of all of the talk about NIL, and all of the talk about portal and all of the complaining. Let's go play football. Let's get our team against their team and let's go see where we stand and let's go play."

Kirby Smart's enthusiasm comes on the heels of a major milestone in his career. In May 2024, he signed a 10-year contract extension with Georgia. It was valued at $130 million, once again making him one of the highest-paid coaches in college football history.

This extension followed a stellar performance, including a 49-21 victory over UAB, which brought Kirby Smart's record as Georgia’s head coach to 85-15. This achievement set a new benchmark in the SEC, marking the highest total wins and win percentage by a coach in their first 100 games.
