Georgia Bulldogs offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Mike Bobo heaped praise on quarterback Carson Beck ahead of the 2024 season. Beck returned to Georgia for his senior season as the starting quarterback for the Bulldogs. Beck is one of the favorites to win the Heisman in 2024, while Georgia is favored to win the national championship.

Entering training camp, Bobo said Beck blew him away with his comments about treating camp like preparation for the Clemson game.

"He said, 'I want to say something to you guys: you need to take this camp like you're getting ready to play Clemson the first game. I didn't do that when I was young. I wasn't taking advantage of every opportunity to get ready to be the starter,'" Bobo said (via 247Sports).
"I've been saying it for 27 years coaching quarterbacks: You're getting ready to play. Your opportunity's every practice.
"But then for Carson to step up and say that in a meeting and stop me mid-meeting and say that to those young quarterbacks — 'Hey guys, you're getting ready to play Clemson in that first game' — that's how you should approach it," Beck added.

Last season, Beck went 302-for-417 for 3,941 yards off 24 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Mike Bobo wants Carson Beck to be himself

Entering 2024, the Bulldogs have a lot of pressure on their shoulders as they are favorites to win the national championship.

If Georgia is going to win the national title, they will need Carson Beck to be at his best.

"I want Carson to be himself, OK? Carson can't be Coach Bobo. He can't be Coach Smart," Bobo said. "I just want him to be him. He has a great trait that he has such an even temperament.
"Whether we score a touchdown or we go three and out or he happens to throw a pick or something, his temperament doesn't change. That allows him to stay calm in the moment."

Georgia will open its 2024 season on August 31 against Clemson. The Bulldogs also have important games against Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, and Ole Miss.
