Georgia star Warren Brinson hits back at online hate over his latest "side quest"

Warren Brinson took a break from just making plays on the football field to take over to the skies - literally. The defensive lineman from Savannah checked off a bucket list item over the weekend by flying a plane for the first time.

Georgia’s DL shared a 19-second video on X/Twitter, showing him confidently handling the aircraft's controls while soaring through the clouds. The bold move quickly caught the attention of fans on social media, with many playfully cautioning Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart, with comments like "Do NOT let them start flying planes, Kirby Smart" flooding in:

Pursuing a major at UGA in Housing and Management Policy, Brinson didn't let the playful online banter get to him. Instead, he responded with a dose of sarcasm on Instagram:

"damn i cant do a side quest...."

As he gears up for his senior year in Athens, Brinson is balancing his "side quest" adventurous spirit with football preparation and unique personal achievements. Fans can expect more surprises from this multi-talented Bulldog as he continues to soar, both on and off the field.

Kirby Smart demands more from Warren Brinson

The Georgia coach has made his expectations clear for senior defensive lineman Warren Brinson, stressing the need for continuous growth:

"It's great as long as age doesn't prevent growth. We have to be smart about how we practice them, the reps they take, and if they stunt growth, maybe we don't get better for the next year." [H/T Sports Illustrated]

Smart's concern is clear: veterans like Warren Brinson and Nazir Stackhouse must not plateau. Their return must contribute to the team's progress, rather than simply taking up valuable game reps that could foster the development of younger players.

"If they stay the same, they did no good coming back," Smart said. [H/T Sports Illustrated]

Brinson’s stats back up his potential. Last season, he recorded career highs with 21 tackles and two sacks. Despite a calf injury limiting his playtime, Brinson showed flashes of excellence, particularly in his pass rush.

In January, Warren Brinson announced his return as a fifth-year senior, bringing the experience of being a two-time national champion. Kirby Smart sees their comeback as a potential boon for the Bulldogs, provided they don’t rest on their laurels.
