EA Sports College Football 25 has proven to be a hit among reviewers as it attained a score of 88/100 on Metacritic. The game has quickly become the talk of the town with notable sports and entertainment figures, such as LeBron James, Patrick Mahomes and Kai Cenat, jumping on the wave.
However, gamers noticed some in-game issues that had to be fixed and voiced their concerns on social media. EA has since released an announcement for upcoming post-launch updates.
But despite these changes, the fans still had additional requests—with the most common one being the ability to edit recruits:
"Update being able to edit recruits numbers and race!," said @robbie.parker1.
"Fix the Oline please. Not every team is Colorado😂," said @jaylin_burns.
"Allow us to edit numbers!," said @somewherenamerica93.
"#EDITNUMBERS," said @channingrosario.
"So what about those new accessories 😕 cough, cough hanging mouth guards 😗," said @shelvekam.
Comments aside, the general sentiment has been favorable toward the game and its developers.
What have critics said about EA Sports College Football 25?
EA Sports College Football 25 has received rave reviews from critics since it was released to the general public on July 19.
Here's a look at what some of them thought of the game:
1. The Washington Post
"There’s no question that College Football 25 is worth buying and is a welcome return to the franchise," said Herb Schribner.
Schribner gave it three and a half stars out of five. He praised the game for its wildly entertaining offensive plays and immersive scheming. However, he criticized the difficulty and unpredictability of recruiting players for your program.
2. Forbes
"EA delivered a much deeper experience that easily carves its own identity in every way possible," said Brian Mazique.
Mazique rated CFB 25 8.5 out of 10. In his Forbes review, he stated that the game isn't merely "Madden" in collegiate uniforms but rather an impressive offering in its own right. He expects that future editions will only get better.
3. Screen Rant
"College Football 25 will be a must-play for hardcore college football fans, and the excitement of the new drop helps players ignore some of its flaws," said Sean Migalla.
Migalla gave the game a four out of five rating, which translates to "Excellent" on Screen Rant's review metric. He gave EA props for the innovation and steps taken to make the game more immersive, and according to him, "it's one of the best-looking football games players can buy."
However, its UI needs improvement and some tweaks could be made to the game modes to make the franchise even better.
