Quinn Ewers has been in the spotlight this week. On Wednesday, reports claimed that an unnamed school offered the Texas quarterback $6 million to enter the transfer portal after his current season with the Longhorns.

Ewers, who still has one year of college eligibility remaining, now has to decide whether he will go pro this year or in 2026.

To help Ewers with his decision, former New York Jets safety Kerry Rhodes has offered some advice to the Texas quarterback. During an appearance on FOX Sports Radio's "The Odd Couple" show, Rhodes urged Ewers to take the money and return to the college circuit for one more season. [Timestamp: 6:46]

"Absolutely, a thousand percent," Rhodes said when asked if Ewers should enter the transfer portal and accept his $6 million offer from the unnamed school. "The other alternative doesn't even match up to that. You're going to be holding the clipboard in the NFL. He will get a $400,000 signing bonus, but you can make $6 million in college football and not be worried about it."

Per reports, Texas plans to move on from Ewers after this season. The Longhorns seemingly want Arch Manning, Ewers' backup, to lead their offense for the 2025 season.

Hence, it's unlikely that Ewers will return to Texas next season. Nonetheless, he will hope to win the national title with the Longhorns, who are two wins away from glory.

Quinn Ewers will lead the offense for Texas in the College Football Playoff semifinal against Ohio State on Jan. 10. The Longhorns quarterback led his team to a 39-31 win over Arizona State on Wednesday to guide Texas into the next round of the Playoff.

This season, Ewers has completed 270 of 406 passes for 3,189 yards and 29 touchdowns, with 11 interceptions. He has also rushed for two touchdowns.

Although Texas is considered the underdog against the Buckeyes, Ewers has a knack for turning up in big games. The Longhorns will need their signal-caller to be at his best when in the CFP semifinal against the Buckeyes.
