Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter has been one of the best players in college football this year. However, this may be his last year in Boulder, since he will likely depart for the 2025 NFL draft. Another name speculated departing from the Colorado Buffaloes program is their coach, Deion Sanders, who has a net worth of $45 million according to Celebrity Net Worth.
Hunter and his co-host Boog spoke on the latest about the possibility of Deion Sanders leaving and the media coverage of it potentially driving away recruits. They pair discussed this on the latest edition of the "Travis Hunter Show," in which Hunter's co-host said on the issue:
"He (Deion Sanders) got so much momentum and so much steam right now that they are definitely gonna start as many rumors as they can to try to sway people to go another direction."
For the last few weeks, Deion Sanders has been linked with a departure from the Colorado Buffaloes. The answer on where he will end up varies depending upon who you ask. But the Dallas Cowboys, Las Vegas Raiders and the Florida State Seminoles are three teams that have been mentioned as possible destinations for Sanders.
If any departure does happen, its effect on the Buffaloes will be felt for years to come. Since he arrived at Colorado in 2023, Deion Sanders has been able to recruit many skilled players via the appeal of playing for one of the best cornerbacks in NFL history.
With no Sanders, this appeal goes, and we could see something like what was seen when Nick Saban announced his retirement. However, Deion Sanders has said nothing about where he will be next season.
Travis Hunter on top Colorado recruit Julian Lewis
Also on the podcast, Travis Hunter spoke about a Colorado recruit who has recently committed to the Boulder program.
"Julian Lewis has committed to Colorado. We need him. He'll be a good kid. He just got to continue to buy into what Coach Prime is telling him and work."
Julian Lewis announced his intention to play for the Colorado Buffaloes in a well-produced video. This included the program's current quarterback. Shedeur Sanders literally handed the keys to the Buffaloes down to Lewis.
With all the talk of Deion Sanders moving on, this is some good news for the future of the program, as without Sanders and Hunter, the team is expected to suffer a decline in performance.
But the arrival of Lewis (who is a four-star pick according to 247sports.com) could give Sanders a reason to stay with the team. Lewis could become his next long-term project and someone who he can guide to the same level of stardom as Deion has given Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter.
