Colorado Buffaloes safety Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig began his collegiate career with Jackson State in 2021. After two seasons, he entered the transfer portal and joined the Buffs after Coach Prime and his sons arrived in Boulder in 2023. In the past two seasons with Colorado, the safety recorded 138 total tackles, 3.0 sacks, four interceptions, and one forced fumble.

Following the 2024 season and helping the Buffs to a 9-4 campaign in the Big 12, Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig has decided to declare for the 2025 NFL draft. 5x Grammy-winning rap icon Lil Wayne took to social media to cheer on the Colorado safety on his decision to declare for the NFL draft.

Lil Wayne shared an Instagram post that contained Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig's declaration for this year's draft. The American rapper congratulated the safety on his fruitful collegiate career and was excited to see his professional journey in the NFL.

"Got Moms out brudda!!!! MULA BABY," Lil Wayne wrote.

In his draft declaration, the Colorado safety thanked both Jackson State and the Buffs for allowing him to shine on the field. He also expressed his gratitude to Coach Prime and other coaching staff members for helping him develop his skills and preparing him for his professional journey in the NFL.

"To Jackson State, thank y'all for accepting me as a kid and helping me grow to a man. Forever my second home. Also blessed to be a part of the Jackson State family forever. To Buff family, thank you all for the terrific memories and all the unconditional love. It's no better feeling than running out onto Folsom Field thank you all."
"To Coach Livingston, Coach Mathis, and Coach Prime, thank you all for pushing me everyday to be a better player, while always pushing me to be a better man. I can't thank you all enough."

Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig is looking forward to watching Colorado's success in the future

Craig, quarterback Shedeur, and two-way star Travis Hunter helped the Buffs redeem themselves this season after a disappointing 4-8 debut last year. They helped the program become bowl-eligible, where they unfortunately lost to BYU in the Alamo Bowl.

During a press conference ahead of their Bowl game, Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig talked about how he is excited to watch the new talents in Boulder take the program to new heights and continue the period of success they kickstarted in the Big 12.

"So we didn't get the chance to play for a Big 12 championship or a national championship, but we still want to see that happen here," Cam'Ron said. "We still want these guys to do something. I talk to the newcomer freshmen, the early enrollees all the time, just because they're building something here. We're really building something. We are the guys that you'll remember that started this."

Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig is a talented safety whose skills could boost a team's defensive stats on the field. It will be interesting to see which team decides to draft him later in April this year.
