Deion Sanders appeared eager to teach his youngest son, Shedeur, a valuable lesson during their flight to San Antonio ahead of the Alamo Bowl. When Shedeur answered a mysterious call on his phone, Coach Prime said that he needed to train Shedeur not to answer calls that don't flash an ID.
In a YouTube video uploaded by Walk Off Media on Monday, Deion gave his son some brief advice before turning on the comedy.
"I think I got to teach my son," Sanders said. "When it says no call ID, don't answer the phone.
"And if it's on Christmas, too, that's for money. That's a relative. That's somebody that wants something."
Sanders and Shedeur even briefly discussed some of their New Year plans on their journey to Texas. The Buffs (9-3) will play Big 12 rival BYU (10-2) in the Alamo Bowl at the Alamodome in San Antonio on Saturday.
However, the Sanders kept the atmosphere light and cheerful on their trip to Texas. The Buffs traveled in comfort in a lavish plane, which was reportedly arranged by CU's athletic director Rick George.
Deion Sanders will aim to get Colorado its first bowl win in 20 years
Deion Sanders has worked his magic at Colorado (9-3) this season. Coach Prime now has the opportunity of getting the Buffs their first bowl win in 20 years.
Colorado's last bowl win came in 2004 by beating UTEP 33-28 in the Houston Bowl.
Sanders was hired by Colorado in December 2022. In his first season, he led the Buffs to a rather underwhelming 4-8 record, failing to secure a bowl game.
This season, however, Colorado can finish the season on a high with a bowl win. The game against BYU is also likely to mark Shedeur's final appearance in a Colorado jersey since the quarterback is expected to declare for the 2025 NFL draft.
