The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets had been playing well but struggled since quarterback Haynes King suffered a shoulder injury against the North Carolina Tar Heels on Oct. 12. He has not played since sustaining the injury, and coach Brent Key discussed the setback after the game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Oct. 19, the first matchup King missed.
"You know, it's, you know, you're going to get crazy and say day-to-day, but that's kind of what it is," Key said. "I mean, you know, I don't know. I don't know where it's at as far as... it's not, it's not season-ending. I can tell you that. It's not a season-ending injury.
"You know, it's going to depend on a lot upon just, you know, how quickly you can react and come, you know, ready to roll."
With Key saying this is not expected to be a season-ending injury, people have been questioning when he will return to the field. Let's take a closer look at the latest Haynes King injury update to see if he can suit up in Week 11 against the No. 4 Miami Hurricanes.
Is Haynes King playing this week?
While there has been no official indication either way, signs are pointing that quarterback Haynes King will return to the starting lineup in this Week 11 game against the Hurricanes. A major indication was made as the captains for the game were announced and King was named, coming off the off week for the Yellow Jackets.
King has been a star when he is on the field for Georgia Tech this season, as he has completed 136 of 191 (71.2%) of his passes for 1,568 yards with eight passing touchdowns to only one interception. He has also been a threat running the football, as he has 62 rushing attempts for 353 yards (5.7 yards per carry) with six rushing touchdowns.
This game is going to be difficult for the Georiga Tech Yellow Jackets to pull off the upset, but with Haynes King on the field, it is more likely to happen with him returning.
